SQUALL®

Squall® is a polymeric adhesive and enhancer. Its properties allow more active agent to be delivered to the target area. It increases the rain resistance of the active agents used and ensures better distribution.

Advantages of SQUALL®:

  • Increases the effectiveness of plant protection products
  • Improves rain resistance through polymer film formation
  • Ensures a good distribution of the active ingredients on all leaf surfaces
  • Reduces the drift of spray mixtures.
  • Reduces the runoff of pesticides to the soil.
  • 100% biodegradable and FIBL listed for organic farming

Product specifications:

  • Labeling: polymeric adhesive
  • Ingredients: Polyethylene glycol mixture
  • Name: SQUALL®

SQUALL® - adhere, coat and save

Squall® a good adhesive pays for itself!

Unfortunately, the use of adhesives is repeatedly dismissed by pesticide suppliers as unnecessary in terms of the active ingredient delivery. From the perspective of this industry, this is understandable. The studies with Squall® show that significantly more active ingredient is lost if this additive is omitted. As shown in the picture, the active ingredient is lost through drift and, even more significantly, through the spray solution dripping off the wax layer on the leaf surface. The active ingredient simply drips from the leaf surface onto the ground. It is precisely these losses that damage the soil and represent a significant savings potential. Our test results show that these losses can be significantly limited with Squall®. Significantly more active ingredient is delivered to the target area. This benefits both conventional and biological plant protection. In monetary terms, a good adhesive pays for itself.

Squall® shows increased effectiveness

Squall® makes it possible to drastically reduce the use of chemical agents. The effect of herbicides can be drastically reduced simply by combining it with Squall®. The addition of Squall® ensures that more of the agent is deposited on the wax layer of the leaf surface. Significantly less agent is needed for the required concentration on the leaf mass. Studies at Wageningen University show a savings potential of >50% when using herbicides.

Squall® increases rain resistance of contact fungicides

Rain resistance studies in Belgian apple cultivation (PC Fruit/Sin-Truiden) show impressively that Squall® increases the effectiveness of contact fungicides. In the simulation, the treated plants were exposed to 25mm of rainfall via a rain shower. The contact fungicides used showed an 80% improvement in effectiveness. With Squall®, the penetration into the plant tissue and the subsequent rain resistance are significantly better.

Squall® increases the effectiveness of contact fungicides

Investigations in the KOB on Lake Constance with Squall® show a significantly improved effectiveness of the fungicides used. The data impressively demonstrate how the efficiency of the fungicides used increases with Squall®. Investigations into residue behavior with Squall® show that the residue behavior of the agents used has not changed with Squall®.

Squall® increases the effectiveness of systemic fungicides

At DLR Neustadt, Squall® shows a significantly improved effect when dimethomorph is used in combination with mancoceb. The mode of action makes it possible to place more active ingredients on the leaf mass of onions, so that systemic fungicides are more effective than the control. The yield data were particularly impressive. The yield in the treated area was almost doubled.
